Does this mean that MINOXIDIL does not block androgen receptors in prostate? Need the opinion of a scientist or a medical student!!!

There is only one in-vitro study https://www.oncotarget.com/article/1886/pdf/ where it says that minoxidil may suppress androgen receptors, which I hardly believe since minoxidil causes hypertrichosis. They even have a patent saying that minoxidil is supposedly effective for acne treatment https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2014193587A1/en There is not a single AR blocker (anti-androgen) that would cause hypertrichosis. I started doing research and dug out this old study. Please explain this study to me, especially where it says about the rat prostate cytosol androgen receptor studies.I didn't quite get it.It says "Lack of displacement of labeled testosterone from rat prostate cytosol androgen receptor by phenytoin, diazoxide, minoxidil” Does this mean that minoxidil does not block or bind androgen receptors in rat prostate?

Is In vitro study . Almost useless, specially cause this drug is in the market since the late 70s for hipertesion and early 80s was already using it offlabel to treat hair loss .
And like you say , it cause hypertrichosis in the whole body , the opossitive of an antiadrogenic drug do .
So, this drug have to have pro hypertrichosis but at the same time, according to this study , antiandrogenic properties , that in real life, this antiadrogenic spouse properties was never mention in any scientific In VIVO studies .
A none sense .

How then, according to their results, does minoxidil treat acne? And why are they patenting it?

Well, can, basically, you can patent anything :) I saw even more stupid patens , specially on wigs :) .
Why are they lying? What's the point of that? Why do they need it?This is strange. But the photos shows that minoxidil cleanses acne.It may also be that topical minoxidil contains alcohol.Alcohol can also kill bacteria.
