Been suffering from diffuse hair loss and severe chest acne for a while now. Occasionally scalp acne, too. I'm definitely an oily person, and my dermatologist has put me on a 3 month course of antibiotics and topical Fabior foam for the oil/acne. He also ran an alopecia panel, but everything came back normal (though that doesn't necessarily mean optimal.)
I've started minoxidil foam about a week ago, for reference.
After noticing some red spots on the thinner parts of my scalp a while ago, I started doing research and found out about Malassezia. I finally decided to cut my hair super short so that I could see what else was going on up there... And to me, I really think it looks like I've got some growing up there, despite the fact that I lack any sort of dandruff/no discomfort on my scalp that I would expect based on the symptoms list.
What do you guys think? Do any of you have similar symptoms/experience with Malassezia?
Or, does it look like something else?
