Does too much hair combing & head scratching contribute

...anything to hair loss?

Note: I couldn't put the last 4 words in the thread title because of the character limit.

Anyway, I assume that the hair strands that fall out when you comb are those in the telogen phase, so however you comb your hair is irrelevant

But to be sure, I bought that comb with the rolling metal bristles. But then, I found out that I feel more comfortable with ordinary comb than the rolling-metal-bristle comb.

Also, I have this habit of scratching my head (it feels good, btw), but I would lose 10 strands (at most) in the process. But then again, I would assume that those hair strands falling out are already in the telogen stage.

Any advice?

Do I have to change the way I comb my hair or something?

Those factors are negligable at best. There is such a thing as traction alopecia, but unless youre really pulling out hairs, I dont think its an issue. However the fact that you're drawn to scratching your head implies that your scalp health could be better. You might want to look into an anti-oxidant or anti-inflamitory. And use nizoral if you arnt already.
