If you've gone from 5% minoxidil up to 10% or higher and seen better results at the higher percentage, can you share your brand? Oral min works wonders for me but I'm done with it. Need to increase topical exposure in hopes of some maintenance.

**guess typos in titles cannot be fixed :(

You’re really not feeling oral minoxidil, are you? Just worried about heart etc? Don’t blame you tbh.

What dosage are you taking?

I’m using 5 mg with great success combined with Dutas, Nizoral and Dermapen.

I used high concentration minoxidil in the past and never saw regrowth plus it irritated my scalp.

Nah, I got over the heart palpitations. Went away and never returned at 2.5 mg/day. I am extremely sensitive to the vasodilation effects, which is probably also why it works so well for my hair. Here's a pic of my arm hours after finishing working out. If I continued on this path I would surely damage my venous system...

I haven't heard of anyone else having the vasodilation/VEGF effects that I have. I also am a great responder to NO / citrulline pre-workout supplements. It's a shame because I found the holy grail and cannot use it.

That’s too bad, maybe lowering to 1.25 and combining with topical 5% could be a good combo.

I’ve also noticed an increase in vascularity but nothing like what you’re showing.

I've ordered minoxidil sulfate from china. I think this could be the answer for a topical formula that works like a high dose of oral without the systemic side effects. Most likely it won't have long term stability once formulated in solution but if min sulfate can be delivered to follicles transdermally, high efficacy will be seen. There is a paper that shows min sulfate is 14 x more effective than min.

That’s crazy, but is there any soreness in your arm from the vasodilation effect? Do you think if you dropped your dose to 1.25mg like Michel mentioned your venous system would adjust after awhile or maybe only take it on the days you don’t workout?

better off just lightly dermarolling with a 1.5mm roller and applying normal 5% minoxidil, saves money. usually higher concentrations cost more than your usual 5% minoxidil. You will get the same results as higher percentages.

Veins seem to be more normal today...looks like I'll get a complete reversal thankfully. Don't know if I mentioned that I was also using topical with oral. And I like to apply topical after showering because it gives better scalp penetration.
Since I can't stop pressing my luck with oral lol, I think I'll get my Doctor to give me very low dose pharmaceutical grade minoxidil (loniten, maybe about ~ 1 mg/day) and continue to spot treat with topical. I've always drank rogaine but perhaps i'm getting more than i think i am. This will be my last dance with oral minoxidil.

I think you are correct. I've been using a 1 mm dermapen although I also have a Derminator 2. I need to watch a tutorial and see how to use this thing properly. I also like applying minoxidil after my session.

How often do you do the light rolling sessions? I've heard you can do those more often

Yea, that big vein that runs across my bicep started hurting. I stopped training biceps in the gym for a few days...Arms look more normal today.

I haven’t noticed anything with my veins but I am getting some soreness in areas. I’m always kinda stiff in the neck though but the arms are getting stiff now too. Idk my eyes kinda feel like they are dry and have pressure behind them. It seems like my blood pressure actually increased from taking it.

Watch for edema in feet too. Increased BP is a common effect as your body holds water to compensate for the initial drop in BP. I started taking a diuretic drug to see if I could offset the edema, but it was just too much pharmaceutical roulette at that point.

I have put in weight but have also been taking a lot of protein. Thanks for the tip, I think I will take the weekend off and then start back up on a little lower dose. The struggle never ends

Also consider a lower dose of oral with topical for spot treatment of problem areas. Sinclair's studies show that even 0.5 mg can work, although most people on this forum will disagree.

Thanks but topically it won’t get past the dermatitis I have and just make it worse.

I font think it would be proper minoxidil sulphate as it would cost over £10,000 per month supply
More like it will be sulfuric acid added to mix.

MXS is definitely more effective, But it has a larger molecule weight (40% more larger than standard minoxidil), but unstable in aqueous solution and degrades.
A 10% MXS would be needed for absorption and batches would need to be made every few days for maximum results.
