Don't freak out over shedding in the shower

When I was 16... I recall shedding like crazy in the shower- I had longer hair at that time, and after a shower, I used to freak out over the clumps of hair that were left in the bathtub. Maybe not clumps, but a fair amount of hair was leftover after shampoos- hundreds of hairs, probably.

I was scared that I had something wrong with me- like cancer or some other disease that caused hairloss- male pattern baldness never, ever, ever crossed my mind at the time- I was in my teens! It had to be something with my health.

Anyhow, over a decade later, I am maintaining my hair and am still shedding all the time- I lose plenty of hair each day after combing, shampooing, etc. I can run my hands through my hair and sure enough, out falls dead hair. But it's been this way for years. And I'm somewhere around an NW1.

Point is- shedding never, ever is a definite sign of male pattern baldness- so it's normal to lose lots of hair every day.

So to the guys who worry about this- stop worrying, because shedding *might* be male pattern baldness, but there is also a *very* strong chance that it is *not* male pattern baldness. When scientists say it's normal to lose 150 hairs a day, they mean it. It's not a sure thing that it's related to male pattern baldness!!

It's like your favorite hockey team- they might win tonight, or they might lose! There is a possibility for both to happen! Same with shedding! It might be male pattern baldness, it might not!!
