Hey all,

I was on dutasteride.com, and it says do not take dutasteride with ketoconazole (Nizoral).

Is this right? Has anyone heard this anywhere else?

Thanks!

Just curious - did the site mention whether the ket was oral or topical?

What other drugs will affect Dutasteride?

* Do not take dutasteride without first talking to your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
o a protease inhibitor such as amprenavir (Agenerase), indinavir (Crixivan), nelfinavir (Viracept), ritonavir (Norvir), or saquinavir (Invirase, Fortovase)
o itraconazole (Sporanox) or ketoconazole (Nizoral)
o verapamil (Calan, Calan SR, Covera-HS, Isoptin, Isoptin SR, Verelan, Verelan PM)
o diltiazem (Cardizem, Cardizem CD, Cardizem SR, Cartia XT, Dilacor XR, Tiazac, others)
o cimetidine (Tagamet, Tagamet HB, others)
o erythromycin (E-Mycin, Ery-Tab, Eryc, E.E.S., others)
* You may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment if you are taking any of the medicines listed above.
* Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with dutasteride. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines, including herbal products.
