Hello,

i have a question. Does the body addict on a higher dosage? I
just started with Finasterid 1 mg per day and now I take 2,5mg Finasterid per day.

Do I have problems if I want to change the dosage after few months to 1mg per day or is it the same as I had taken 1mg continued?

And if someone take Finasterid 1mg per day over a long term, has he always the same DHT reduction? (Addiciton effect)

thanks in advance

best regards

i saw a graph of serum DHT vs number of days after a single dose of 1 mg up to 100 mg, and another graph that had dutastide doses, and another graph that had daily doses for 28 days and then stopped cold turkey. All of them returned to normal, and did not rise above normal for even a day. That is not a long term test, but it is something. During the 28 days, all finasteride doses stayed in there range, like a jagged edge since finasteride as a 4 hour half life. The duatsteride doses cause DHT to drop fast and gradually reach a steady state during the 28 days.

I've read a lot, and I have not seen any evidence that the body ever gets addicted. genetics dose cause the growth of more androgen receptors and more 5ar2 over the years, which is why people on propecia start loosing more hair after 2 years. but this happens to all men whether they are taking finasteride or not. It happens faster in people with male pattern baldness. If you look at the graph to the left, the placebo group starts loosing it faster every year, so it is happening to them too, but without the protection of propecia. Once a hair has enough androgen receptors to make it more sensitive, the same amount of propecia might not give it enough protection.

you should be safe with the 2x5 mg. people tolerated 2.5 mg of dutasteride for 6 months, which is way stronger. just get your liver checked to make sure you are not of the 1 in 1000000 that could get liver damage from finasteride.

no, because it is neither a stimulant or depressant, you cannot become addicted...

i would stay at ~1mg unless you feel that you do need more, it would be easier to increase if you do need it rather than finding out that 1mg works just fine

studies showed that 1mg works just as well as 5mg for male pattern baldness

College,
So after several years on finasteride our body will produce more DHT?
