I was referred info about this doctor and saw he claims to use this unique technique for hair transplantation. I don't expect this is anything groundbreaking, especially since I can barely find any info on him or patient results, but since I don't know much I was curious what other people here think about this.

Bumping here because I'm hoping others might at least share their opinion of this technique.

How different is this "needle punch" method from the typical incision and implantation method? It seems this method would be more suited for very minor hair transplant work but maybe not for huge sessions on advanced Norwoods, but I'm not sure.

I'm also wondering how it compares in price and whether this clinic seems trustworthy.

Google DHI - Direct Hair Implant. That's the technique that this doctor is using. Nothing revolutionary and other clinics are doing too. The main benefit is that the grafts stay less time outside of the skin and this would in theory result in better survival rates and yields.

I don't know why you are excited about this doctor - are you from the same area? He just showed one result and it was nothing special.

I'm not from that area but my uncle who lives near Vegas started going there for PRP treatments.

The reason I was interested in this technique is because I'm considering a transplant as a NW7 in order to get rid of my horseshoe pattern, which is currently visible no matter what I do and bothers me. The types of procedures like what Zarev is doing seem out of the realm of possibility for me because of the cost and because people keep saying it's too big of a risk for me because I could lose a lot of the grafts.

I'm not sure if this direct hair transplant technique is any more affordable, though. I'll have to look into it more.

Kinda on this topic, since this DHI method seems to be an improved way of implanting the follicles... why isn't there an improved way of removing the follicles from the donor area yet? We've had standard FUE for a while now but that still cuts significantly into the skin and removes some skin. I guess apparently Dr Zarev's "vacuum assisted": technique is supposed to be some form of upgrade, but we don't know any details about it which i still find odd.
