Dr. Will Powers is a physician who also does LGBT and transgender care. He came up with a topical that contains at least twice the strength Minoxidil, Finasteride and a bunch of other stuff.

What do you guys think about this? He has several iterations and is continuously working on refining it. Admittedly, his patients are on a whole bunch of hormones, but since it's a topical, it shouldn't go systemic all that much.

Latest version (4):
  • Minoxidil 10% Standard ingredient in Rogaine at twice the OTC strength
  • Azelaic Acid 2% Non-specific competitive 5ARI (type 1 and 2)
  • Biotin 0.50% Encourages hair growth locally, Carboxylase co-enzyme
  • Tea Tree Oil 0.25% Antifungal/Antimicrobial/Moisturizer/Follicle cleaning
  • Finasteride 0.25% Topical 5ARI to block local DHT conversion
  • Melatonin 0.1% MT1 receptor stimulation for hair growth, and decreased oxidative stress to hairs (less graying and loss)
  • Latanoprost 0.005% For hair regrowth, and conversion of vellus hairs to terminal hairs
  • Retin-A (Tretinoin) 0.025% Increases cellular turnover and new follicle generation
  • Inactive Base 86.865% Polysorbate 80 (Emulsifier), Propylene glycol(Carrier and Wetting Agent), Ethyl alcohol 190 proof usp (Penetrant)
That's the wiki page: https://www.reddit.com/r/DrWillPowers/wiki/hair-restoration#wiki_version_4

He has a bunch of other threads for the different iterations and claims, he's been working on a serum for a few years to help trans people (re)grow or maintain hair.

All in all, nothing too crazy or out of the ordinary, but nevertheless interesting to me.

One study shows that 10% minoxidil is worse than 5%, 0.25% finasteride seems small but if you want to apply about 1 ml of this serum then you will be applaying 2,5 mg of finasteride on your scalp, which is a lot and studies are showing that this amount is blocking serum dht as well as 1 mg orally with slightly better outcome, so you still have same chance of sides. Retin-A and Melatonin is in good concentration but I'm not sure if 0.005% of latanoprost will do anything significant but it is strong growth inducer but we just dont know if that concentration is ok for humans.

Hey I did find out for you, sorry! I think this is a customs issue in France. They said unfortunately France does not allow shipment containing prescription and non-prescription drugs due to a French import laws.
