Dry, irritated skin...

I just started thinking about my scalp itch and I think that it cannot be a coincidence that it started around the same time I started finasteride. I had never felt the need to scratch my scalp before starting finasteride. My face rash and pimples have been uncontrollable aswell after starting finasteride... My face skin is totally clear in all the pics from 2001 to 2006. I'm gonna try to stop the finasteride although it might mean my hairloss will accelerate. I guess I've just ran out of ammunition considering treating my hairloss, unless some topical can help me lower my DHT. Any suggestions?

Do you use a good moisturiser and good facial wash? When I was 22 or so I was a little obsessed about acne and blackhead..I researched a little and found two really good products.

Facial wash
MD Formulation Facial Cleanse - it has some acid it in that helps..I actually never had any pimples when I used it..only when I was broke and used another cheap product..I think the acid kills all the bacterias that cause acne
http://www.mdformulations.com/

Facial moisturiser
Dermalogica Active Moist- Voted best moisturiser for face..it felt real nice on my face and its seemed like I was a little tan when I used it..and thats nice for us people up in the cold north who is natural white or pink all winter :jackit:
http://www.dermalogica.com.com

search bizrate.com for the best price..I found http://www.strawberrynet.com to be the cheapest on active moist

I dated a skintherapist(?) or what its called..and she gave me some sort of scrub for the face and a facial mask..it felt nice but think those two products I talked about does most part of the job

It could be worth a try for 2 months to see if anything clear up? You could ask you derm, but a friends father is a real good derm, but he says I should just wash my face with mild soap and use regular moisture..he dosnt belive in "expensive" stuff and I think most derm says the same thing..but my experience is that the MD facial cleanser and the moisturiser really made my skin nice

What shampoo you use? You said before that the itch started when you started with nizoral
I bought that Tgel shampoo we discuessed a month ago..it was nice on the scalp, but made my hair all wierd.
So I bought Body Shop Ginger Shampoo with P-O and it makes my scalp quite nice..But since someone on the forum said that ginger is bad for hair growth I bought Cosmica Medical flass shampo..lagd av Norsk Apotekerforening, vet ikke om dere har den i Finland..But it has P-O and Salicylic acid so its subosed to be good..en annen nordisk shampo er BIO+ Active Shampoo 200 ml, kanskje dere har den i Finland..But I have read that the Tgel is #1 recommended shampo when it comes itchy head..it comes to about 30$ when you order from dermadoctor, and with the super low dollar thats like 5kg of swedish meatballs :youbet:

Acne could be a result of alot of stress..so if your stressed maybe start meditation or so..long shot..but could work hehe

Hope things work out for you dude and good luck on your exams if you have it this semester

Edit: Are you sure 1500mg of fish oil is good? det er tran du mener? står på de tranflaskene vi har i norge at man kun skal ha en tskje om dagen, vet ikke hvor mange mg det er..Tran inneholder a-vitamin som kan forårsake hårtap ved store doser over lang tid(2mnd+) og for mye er ikke bra..men har lest at tran inneholder d-vitamin og det bryter ned a vitamin..og tror det faktisk er enda høyere doser enn 1500mg som immortal hair har i sin rutine..men du kan jo sjekke det ut..var litt lettere å skrive norsk, håper du forstår hva jeg skriver :freaked2:

Yeah thanks for the suggestions, but I've already tried T-gel and it did next to nothing. And I don't think omega 3's can be bad for me. It's the finasteride that has triggered my acne, I'm pretty sure of that. One thing I know for sure: finasteride hasn't helped me with my hairloss at all so I might as well quit it.
