Hey folks! I have been taking 0.5mg of finasteride for the past week now. I’m getting a dull ache in my testicles. I’m slightly concerned about this. Should I stop taking finasteride? Is this a sign of more trouble to come?

Any help or reassurance is much appreciated!

Thanks!

I had the same thing. It was low-intensity pain and it passed pretty quickly (I don't remember how long exactly probably something like week or 2).

I had it during first few weeks of starting Finasteride, but it went away. Been on Finasteride for approx 8 months now, and zero other sides to speak of. I haven’t had any rgrowth in Finasteride, and waiting to determine if I’ve had maintenance. So far it would appear so.

Seems that most people get this and they say it goes away. I would say "be careful" but its affects on people just vary so much. Dull ache after day 1, then my body flipped on day 2. Everyone else seems to tolerate it decently though but I will never touch it again after what it did to me, albeit I seem to have had one of the worst reactions of all time.

My advice is stop taking it now and see if the pain goes away and see how your body feels. You're only 1 week in so you're not exactly losing any progress.

Could we somehow keep the posts relevant to the subforum? I see countless posts unrelated to research and studies on here and it’s kind of pointless/frustrating.

Apologies. This was my first post on this site and I did not mean to post in the incorrect sub forum!

How long have you been taking Finasteride now? Any other sides apart from the minor ache?

Thanks for the reply! Hopefully it is ok! If it continues I am going to drop to 0.5mg every other day I think!

At least you have had no further loss. That’s a result!

Above 6 years. I have lowered libido now to the point where I don't really care about sex and I think finasteride might be the culprit (but I'm not sure - it might be just aging). It didn't happen initially. When I look past it seems like this problem crept in very slowly and gradually that I didn't notice exact point where it happened. I didn't notice any other side effects and finasteride definitely helped stop hair loss and I had some regrowth.
I'm experimenting with CB right now. Let's see if libido will be higher when I make switch to it.

I wouldn't worry about testicular pain and statistically-speaking you will probably not have sexual sides

I'm 34. On January when I was testing Trinov I didn't take finasteride for something like 2 weeks and after first week I noticed big improvement in erection quality so I'm pretty sure finasteride started affecting me negatively in this regard. That's why I started testing alternatives.

My balls still get the ache even 10 years on.

f*****g poison for your bits.

However I did stop and at least I got my erections / libido back.

I’d say it’s a risk.

yes, I don't have a girlfriend and the worst thing is that now I feel I don't really need one which I'd like to change.
