DUPA/Retrograde Alopecia caused by water?

I'm beginning to feel as if diffuse unpatterned alopecia/retrograde alopecia can be caused by the quality of water we wash our hair with. Prior to moving to the city which I live in right now two years ago I was a perfect NW1 with the density of a 10 year old, my brother was the exact same, now I've lost 70%+ of all the hair on my scalp, hes experiencing the same exact unpatterned hairloss as am I and my mom is too far gone and is basically forced to wear a wig, all within a year. If its not the hard water doing this than I don't know what is.

i have dupa and it's not because of water. It's genetic

Hard water is rubbish, here in the United Kingdom we have nasty chemical hard water. I have a Kinetico water softener and reverse osmosis drinking system plus use shower filters.....
