I've been on dutasteride 0.5mg a day for 20 days and my chest is a little sore. Its usually sore for a couple of days due to the gym but its been sore for a week now. Pain kinda comes and goes. Was going to write this off as normal muscle pain but it feels a bit different, like its kinda cold????? Not sure if this is in my head and its my normal muscle pain or the on set of gyno.

Im not even sure what gyno is though - what is it exactly. Will this settle or get worse? Should I stop dutasteride or reduce or ride it out for a few weeks and see what happens?

If anyone can help please let me know as i'm pretty scared at the moment.

Cheers

To put it this way, gyno is manboobs. It isn't just fat that you will lose when you lose weight but actual tissue that won't (usually) go away even with weight loss. Anyway, if the strange sensation continues let's say over a month I'd suggest you to get off dutasteride unless you want to get permanent fat flappers.

Gyno symptoms are; itchy nipples, painful nipples, a feeling like a needle is being pressed into your nipple.

Gyno will not feel like you have just worked out your chest. There is a massive difference.

OK thats alittle bit of relief as my nipples arent sore although they feel kinda cold (and its pretty hot here).

My chest is though, really sore, all yesterday and then again today. Its not usual chest muscle pain and I havent worked them out for a while anyway. There not tender to touch or anything just really really sore it stops for a while every now and then but not for long.

I never experienced this on procepia (though didnt get any results either). So if i continue to take dutasteride for another month and its still happening can I just stop and it will go away? Or should I cut down to EOD or go off it?

No, thats it for me - i'm off Dutas. damn it have got like a 90 day supply but chest still hurting.

This is it for me then, just topical spironolactone and foam. Had real hopes for dutasteride. but yeah bald and booby - no thanks.

This is a crushing blow.

i had a similar thing for a couple of weeks, I was convinced it was gyno but it's gone now and I'm about 1 month in.If you're not happy you're doing the right thing by stopping taking dutasteride.

Sweet - so how long did it last for? Did you drop the doasge or just power through it?

well it was mild for the 1st week, then about 3rd it was a bit stronger. now on about 5th week and it's dropped off. I'm off to the docs though to see what the score is because I can still feel a bit of a hard bit in the right side. left is ok though.I think I might try finasteride instead. or even lower to every other day.

This is unfortunately happening to me too, except I'm not getting any pain or itchiness (touch wood!!!) my nipples are just getting puffy and my buddies in the gym have noticed me getting b1tch tits.

Have now stopped dutasteride entirely for the time being and am on .25mg Arimidex EOD. And I'm going to take 40mg Nolvadex ED when it turns up, until the swelling goes down (if it ever does!!!). At which point, I will resume taking dutasteride.

I missed a day and took it again yesterday and today.

The pain seems to be going away.

Just out of curiousity - how long does gyno take to develop. I mean i've got a little pain in my chest but no puffiness or anything.

I'm just really concerned and worried about this as i'm a thin guy but pretty toned with a bigger pecs and might not see it till its too late, gyno would look absolutely horrible.
