Dutasteride and Ejaculate ...

Began dutasteride nearly 2 weeks ago

take it 2 on 1 off

saw first signs of a shed about a week ago

saw dramitically decreased semen production last night ... no other sexual sides that im aware of, but its def having an effect on my prostate.

I read on an avodart site that @ the 2 week mark, the drug is firmly entrenched in your sys, so it is def letting the prostate know its there ...

dutasteride doesnt reach steady state in your system until about 1 month of taking it everyday.

Thoses treated with a daily dosage of 0.5mg dutasteride for 2 years, the median decrease in serum DHT concentration was over 92% for both year 1 and year 2 of the 2-year trial.

I dont say it to be agrgumentative, just putting it out there ... it really doesnt matter i guess ... 1 week ... 1 month ... im going to take it regardless.

My point was my body is obviously responding to it an its been about 10 days since i started.

I wasnt expecting - or at least didnt think about - the effect this drug could have on "that aspect" of the prostate ...

believe in it? of course...its simple logic...say you have a barrel and want to fill it with water (dutasteride) do you turn the faucet on 1/4 of the way (.5mg of dutasteride) or do you turn it ALL the way on (2.5mg of dutasteride)? which do YOU think will fill the barrel quicker?


You have to keep in mind, because of duts half life...it builds up in your system...the more you take the quicker it will reach steady state.

loading will kick in the side effects alot faster and stronger tho. (if you get them)

So instead of a gradual "getting to know you and over you" phase you might get bombarded.

Most doctors recommend you start low with meds to see how you react then increase after a week or 2.
