Dutasteride and Finasteride together

I tried them both together and had a MAJOR shed -- but that's just me.

Anybody else have luck -- good or bad?

One of the counter-indications of dutasteride is to NOT use it with Finasteride. I would NOT reccomend this! It is serious overkill and far too much hormonal tampering.

Major sheds, however, arnt nessisarily a bad thing. That may just indicate that the follicles are gearing up to produce thicker hair.

Yes, but what do you think about taking Propecia daily, and supplementing .5 dutasteride every, say, fourth or fifth day?

Because of the long half-life, it seems like you might get the benefits of dutasteride without the side effects of taking only dutasteride every day.

(and for this example I'm referring only to people who have already taken Propecia for years and have peaked, and want to upgrade their regimen).

I also thought of doing that in fear of switching from one to the other.. Sounds logical but I heard it gives your liver a beatdown, and I drink enough alcohol to give me, my parents, and my sister cirrhosis of the liver.

That sounds like a good experiment, especially if dutasteride has potentially serious side-effects. Most people take 1mg of Finast for 6 days and rest on the 7th. Maybe take 5 days of Finast and 1/4 .5 mg of dutasteride on the 6th.

I have been taking one pill of dutasteride and Propecia daily for about 7 moths now. After using Propeica for about 6-7 years successfully, it's effectiveness started to wear off. I read a couple of posts of people who had the same issue and started using dutasteride with success (some staying on finasteride and some going off). dutasteride has been good to me (maintained hair), however, I also started using minoxidil around the same time. As for the side effects my libido is still strong, the only issue I had was really dry skin for about 2 weeks after starting dutasteride.
