dutasteride does not work in my opinion, been on it 5 weeks ,no shed and hair is at a all time low,all this sh*t that it will maintain your hair at baseline isn't true in my case because i've receded 0.5mm in both temples in that short 5 weeks and my hair is even thinner all over.So all in all i would have to see some exellent growth in to get me back to were i was 5 weeks ago.
#I am well pissed off but will keep going with the dutasteride just in case by some miracle it starts performing like it should.

5 weeks is too early to judge a treatment - you need to give it at least 3 months, preferably 6 months or more. Another issue for you to consider is whether you actually are taking genuine dutasteride, or a fake.

Cardiff City? No way! I'm from Swansea.

The regimen is going ok, I've been on finasteride since late 2005, added Rogaine foam to the mix recently to bolster the temples. finasteride has definitely stabilised my loss, not sure if there's been any regrowth, maybe a modest amount at the crown.

Are you kidding? 5 weeks? Dude, you've got to have more patience than that.

Do yourself a favor and do a little more reading around here before you make posts like this claiming a medication "Doesn't work"

I don't know how you could possibly accurately record a 0.5mm difference. But as everyone will/has tell/told you, 5 weeks is nothing. Give it 6 months before you get worried :)

If dutasteride is anything like finasteride, it'll usually be 3 months before you stop shedding.

I posted it wrong i meant 5mm not 0.5mm ,i wish it was 0.5 mm,i know what your all saying is probably right but it is still frustrating that i'm not responding at all yet.

dude, you're not supposed to be responding yet. if you were getting results it would have nothing to do with dutasteride. hair that you've lost can't just grow back in 5 weeks no matter what medication you are on. just like finger nails can't grow an inch a day.

DHT inhibitors work, but not like that.

To skyline gtr,

I have just checked out your story and your results are very impressive.
Your hair was getting quite bad but now i don't think anybody would consider you to be bald.My questionb is do you think the dutasteride/foam combination works better on people whos hairloss has become very noticiabl or can it still work on people who can still pull off an half decent amount of hair.

P.S IF YOU CARRY ON LIKE THIS YOUR HAIRS GOING TO LOOK LIKE SEAN PENN'S.

i jumped on that combo because of how aggressive mine was so i wanted to jump on the BEST available to stop it. I went from a NW2 to almost a NW5 in a matter of a few years.

The only drawback that i have had is a little weight gain (bout 20lbs) and slight gyno (not horrible) which i am doing a tamoxen treatment for and its slowly going away. I actually thought i might of had a slight case of this before i even started because i always had a little bit of the man boobage even before i started. Nothing major tho they just would never go down past a certain point despite how skinny i was or how much i worked out. That started right after high school. I blame the weed for that one lol ... damn propaganda films.

There were sides from the dutas for the first 2 weeks where it felt like i had cramps and bloating and it felt weird to pee but that went away. My erections felt less then normal but i did measure them to test and they didn't change. My sperm was a bit watery also. Now they are fine and feel fine. Sperm is normal and looks normal.

So I can say as of right now any sides that I DID have are gone. I think the weight gain was more due to the time of year and stuff seeing it was winter and i wasn't as active as i was before. Now that its getting nice out I'm getting back into the groove. The nice thing is i feel like i have more control over my penis now because before it would pop up anytime anywhere.. even at the most inopportune moments.
