dutasteride obliterated my hairline, wouldn't recommend

Long story short, been on finasteride for about 8 years. About 18 months ago gave dutasteride a go in conjunction with finasteride, 1 pill a week then after about 6 weeks increased to 2 pills a week (wednesdays and sundays). My hairline now is much worse than before starting dutasteride. It makes little sense to me how dutasteride can make it worse but it absolutely has. I'm starting to form that frontal island of hair while the surrounding hair falls out. I give it a year before I'll have to shave it else look like a comb over coper lol.
If finasteride is maintaining, i would not recommend dutasteride, its a one way ticket to Norwood Avenue

It could be a shed, if you are not encountering sides you must continue. Also if you are maintaining the midscalp and the crown you can get transplants to the front and you will have NW1 hair for a long time.

Dutasteride has saved my hair as well. My hair is as strong than when I was 12 again. It’s weird how this has happened. Maybe the stronger drug has caused an initial loss before a stronger frontal regrowth.
