Dutasteride Sexual Side Effects After Just 6 Doses

I have started on Dutasteride 0.5mg Once a day for 6 days and stopped after i started to experience side effects. I have no libido whatsoever. Just vanished. I cannot get any errection at all. All this happened after taking it just for 6 six days. My penis feels like it has shrunk. No morning errections. I had a very healthy sex life. In fact it was on the higher side. I am quite anxious reading through articles where people have not had their libido back for ever etc. Please can members share their experiences. How long does these effects last ? will i ever get back my libido ? I rather live bald than have these effects. What treatments have improved your side effects ?

1. Your penis has NOT shrunk.
2. If you get unbearable side effects, then quit, just like with anything else.

Stop the treatment until sides go away. You could theoreticly try again with a "lower dosage" ie; take 1 dutasteride pill every other day, or even 2 pills every week if you think you reacted that bad to the drug

anxiety itself can also cause these problems

Ur screwed for like 3 weeks at least if it’s not placebo because dutasteride has an extremely long half life. It will be months before you’re back to normal

I use dutasteride .05 omce a week and I break the .05 in half then i take finasteride 2 x a week. So only 3 out of 7 days that I am taking anything. It seems to have improved the sides but they are still present. On the flip side, my hair has stopped falling and I notice a little more thickness so its looking like I'm responding well. Now, if i can just tune these side effects down a little more I'll be happy

If you get sexual sides its pretty noticeable you wont need to debate it. It could happen very fast like this. Yeah quitting is the best choice.

Oh ok, I took three .5 pills of Avodart and have had sides. I stopped 2 days ago. Kind if new to this forum but have you seen posts of people who have stopped and sides go away?

I know people who took a break for 2 weeks after experiencing side effects.

They didn't get (many) side effects afterwards.

Oh ok. I have sexual sides so I’m going to give it a rest for now. So after two weeks break did those people continue to take Avodart ?

consider yourself lucky man, go with it. I usually have no side effects from any medications, finasteride has been the first

3-5 weeks or something, but everyone reacts differently of course.

Just looking at your regime. It looks like you use topical estradiol, what kind of estradiol do you use and are you having and luck with it?

Sides should always go away. Some sides go away in a few days, others can take weeks, maybe up to a month or longer but that is from long term usage. Sides from 2 days of usage should diminish pretty quickly.
