i recently stopped taking generic dutasteride after about two months due to an extreme case of itchiness. it was so bad that i now have small scars on forearm that look like track marks (from the scratching). I don t want to scare or discourage anyone and would definitely encourage those like me for whom propecia didnt really work (I'm actually more scared that it did work and that I should be a lot worse off than I am now).
Anyway, my question is this, see if I'm making sense:
dutasteride has a long half-life and as a result is in your system for a long time.
because of this, side effects (like my reaction) should last as long as it's in your bloodstream
my itchiness wore off within a few days of stopping
Does this mean that i could have been reacting to some kind of
superficial additive in that specific brand of pill so that i would not have the same reaction to another version?
Thanks for any input.. I've started propecia again even though i know that it does nothing for me. Had a lot of hope for dutasteride.
