dutasteride success/side effects results?

Hey can we get some kinda poll or overall assessment from all gus on dutasteride to see some results - like side effects, results for hairline/crown/, shedding period and if you've used finasteride before and what difference it made. This would be great for us guys just starting out or those considering taking it so they can weigh the options. I only ask as i've been on it for 20 days and am starting to get terrible chest pains but would continue if there was a good chance of improvement (finasteride didnt work).

Eight months is nothing, all my results came through in the second year.

KeyserSoza, I'd suggest you drop the drug if these chest pains persist, if you're certain it's the cause.

That was about a year ago. I've dropped down to 3 times a week and lost a small amount of density but nothing major, also added minoxidil foam recently (about 6 months ago) with a tiny amount of success.

Just realised i've been on dutasteride now for 2 years! Didn't realise it was that long!!! Oh well i'd be bald as a coot if it wasn't for those magic little pills. Doesn't work for everyone so don't blame me if it doesn't work for you, but from my own experiences it saved my hair! (for now anyway!)

i think slowly minoxidil ist nothing for me and makes my Hair Yellowish and thin
and not dutasteride!!
a other User say to me his hair goes darker with dutasteride (No minoxidil)

my Hairs was from March 2006-November 2006 black (dutasteride-finasteride Kombie no minoxidil)
i begun November 2006 with minoxidil and the Hairs thinner and the Color Yellowish and like Straw

Not sure about the change in hair colour. I have my hair coloured at the hair salon so thats why mines blonder.

Timi I would see someone about the state of your hair, yellow and like straw doesn't sound healthy. Might be a problem with the chemicals in minoxidil having a bad reaction with your hair, or other products you use. Try changing your shampoo, conditioner and any gels or sprays you use in your hair. Try and go for something which is PH balanced and natural.

I have a question for you. Were you on finasteride before starting dutasteride, and if so for how long were you on finasteride for? Did it lose effectiveness?

I was on finasteride for 5 years or so and it started to go downhill in year 5. I've now switched to dutasteride and been on it for 4 months or so. Its to early to tell if its working yet.

one year update next month.
I shouldn't of changed my dosage cus it caused a shed that I'm VERY slowly recovering from. So I'm not where i was when I peaked but I'm still a shitload better then when I started.

No I used it a few years before for a short while but then quit about 3 years before starting dutasteride.
