How many balding brothers on this site have Dutasteride as part of their regimen. Who has been on it the longest and have you noticed any positive or negative affects?

I've been on dutasteride for about 2 months and no sides other than some mild acne and increased dreaming... although it's hard to say if dutasteride is the cause of the dreams or not.

I, for one, for almost 8 months.

I can't comment on it right now, but if you look at my story you can see photographic results for months 1-7.

There are others on here who have documented their success.

Check out Slartibartfast's story.

PM Going@20 to ask how his progress is.

PM Powersam, I think, who also used dutasteride for a while.

All I see is a guys picture with a nice head of hair :). We hate you. Jk. Thanks for the reply. I am currently on my whopping 15th day of Dutas and can see some increased thinning areas. I was on Avodart for 8months a year ago, I don't remember this thinning but it was awhile ago..

I have been on it for around 6 months or so (22 year old male). Positive effects are that all existing hairs on my head have become VERY thick, but I have not noticed any NEW growth.

At first it was affecting sex drive a bit and the region down below...around 1,000mg of L-Arginine a day and just giving it time had things settle out just fine. I have not noticed how it has affected me in any other way.

Yes, I'm more than satisfied, but I have been shedding hairs for the last 2, almost 3 months.

Hi, I looked at your photos, glad to see you have quite encouraging results. :)

Hope you don't mind to share some experience:
1)Did you have increased shedding in the first two months of dutasteride?
2)Any noticeable amount of shedding of body hairs like eye brows or pubic hair?
3)Did you notice any decrease of libido?
4)Do you think Avodart had any impact on your memory or mental clarity?

I am on the first month of Avodart and noticed an increased shedding of short and fine hairs (about 5mm) and I had quite a bad shedding of body hairs after about 4-6 months of Propecia(they grew back though), I am hoping it won't happen again.

I'm taking 1.25 mg US proscar each day and 3x 0.5 mg Avodart from elitenetpharmacy, as part of a loading phase. i'm staying on the proscar as a back up until i get meds in the mail from other uses so I can compare their UV spectrum to each other, and see if they have carbon fluorine bond absorption in the IR. No side effects. my hair is the same as ever. Just a little fuzz growing back in the temples, which I think the minoxidil is doing.

I seem to shed these weeks, too! You are in which month? I am in month 7.

To answer your questions:

1) No shedding months 1-5... Only a cessation of hairloss, regrowth, thicker hair, and a general healthier appearance.
2) No eyebrow hair, stomache hair, etc... Although, my hair on my arms and legs is noticeably thinner, more vellous, and doesn't grow long anymore.
3) No noticeable decrease in libido. Things are just fine down there.
4) Of course not. Avodart has had NO effect on my mental well-being, my memory, personal function, coordination, etc. No side effects.

You are probably going to shed a few times throughout the course of your Avodart treatment. I highly suggest that you continue your dosage under the supervision of a physician... You will benefit from Avodart sooner or later, just wait it out.

Goodluck, my friend,
anymore comments welcome.

I am 2 days away from the 9-month mark, having just completed 8 months of Avodart treatment. Shedding seems to be going down, but not quite sure...

I don't mind a bit of hair shedding cause I have had the experience and I can expect how I look with a bit thinner hair, it was not too bad with a shorter hair style, however I really don't want to go through another body hair shedding...I looked so different and weird with sparse eyebrows..

And I also find Avodart has less impact down there..

Thanks for advice dude, keep it growing!! :)
