Hello all, my story of hairloss is short in comparison to many on here, but I wanted to post this to hopefully help and encourage early hairloss sufferers.

An brief history. I first noticed I was loosing hair around 18 months ago. So with a small amount of research, I jumped on propecia. Basically it cause massive shedding around my whole head, Ed, penis and testical pain, and very low sex drive. After just over three months I stopped, I deemed the side effects way too server, simply for a 27 YO guy it was just not worth it.

My hair continued to shed at what I believe to be accelorated rate for the next 7 months, I didn't use any other treatment during this time as I wanted to see where my body got to naturaly. I would say by the seventh month, it had slowed, but it was still happening and still seemed to be global, except the very back of my head. Also throughout this time I had a noticeable increase in body hair.

At the beginning of the 8th month off finestrade I decided to jump on rogaine + nizoral shampoo. First 6 weeks, increased shedding again, I buzzed my hair down to a number one so I would notice it less. My hair has now grown back to about one inch. I would strongly advise people do this if they feel they can. The reason is that I found even though I was shedding, my hair was growing, so over time it sort of off set the shedding by giving the appearance of thickening. This is of course purely perspective of self, but I found it helped.

Anyway its now week 8, I can tell you that my shedding has completely stopped, I mean completely, I couldn't pull a hair out of my head if I tried, ok that's a slight over statement, but at anytime over the last year I could lightly pull anywhere on my hear and take out a good 5-10 hairs, now I only get one, after trying afew times in afew areas.

My body hair continues to grow, which I believe Is a strong sign that my body has been effect long term by three months on finestrad, but the minoxidil treatme
treatment probably helps that along a little aswel.

Anyway, I'm sorry if some people read this and don't see it as a success story, as far as I'm concerned, hair totally stopping shedding is a missive win, it means the breaks are on, for now at least. My biggest regret is taking finasteride, and I would strongly recommend to the early sufferers to try topical first. If I had done that I genuinely believe I would have much, much more hair Now.

I will post some pictures soon but I stopped using them a number of weeks ago, I found it fed my unhealthy obsession with my hair, putting it out of my mind has been the best thing for my mental health for sure.

just because you got sides doesn't mean 98% of others wont and they shouldn't take it.

Here's an analogy. It's like saying I got the flu shot and still got sick, therefore no one else should take it because it's useless. But in reality it is effective for most people, and just because it didn't help you doesn't mean it is not beneficial in aggregate of those who take it

Sorry op but finasterde decreases body hair growth. Your body hair is growing naturally unaffected by finasteride.

Also my hair shredded for more than a year while on finasteride.

That means it's working!

Your biggest regret now and will be that you stopped taking finasteride.

My body hair didn't grow while on finasteride, but rocketed once I stopped. That says to me that there is some cellular level effect.

Zzzzz, I've seen your results and they are impressive, I'm not for a second saying people should try finasteride, but if you have very ealry hairloss why not try a less invasive treatment first, if it's not aggressive as is your case, mine was not so realistically, in my case, I.would think the best course of action would be use topical and the, as time progresses, move on to stronger solutions.

I have read up alot on hormones, the more a read the more I think the medical community still doesn't have a firm.hold on how hormones work Exactly, how they interact with each other and the effects on people. I see ur on dutasteride, super strong finasteride. Good luck to you bud, I hope it keeps working for you.

You jelly?? finasteride DOES NOT hinder body hair growth.
If this were true then no one would have any beard.
dutasteride does and you can notice it.
Also pics or it didn't happen
@Notcool
Sarcasm right??
