Per this study (https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.3109/09546639709160517), which I can't access in full, very low loses of topical finasteride may treat hairloss. Data in the finasteride FDA report indicates that .01 mg of oral finasteride daily reduces DHT by ~7%, so it seems reasonable that this dosage applied topically would have negligible systemic effects.

This raises a few questions that I wonder if users here might be able to answer...

1) In quantitative terms, how effective is this treatment? Has anyone seen the study's full text? How does it compare to 1 mg oral treatment.

2) What percentage of topical finasteride reaches the bloodstream? I might be able to math this out based on other studies, but if anyone has an answer, that would be helpful...

3) How can topical finasteride work without systemic effects? Won't circulating DHT be a problem regardless of inhibition in scalp tissue specifically.

Thanks guys
