i got this over at hlh and i dunno if its been posted here but it sounds good!
(just seen its posted in the general discussion forum)
it was rtjbj who posted it
1) I live in US, is there is any way I can participate in trial.
If we run a trial for ICX-TRC in the US, which is possible, we will put
the details on the website. http://www.intercytex.com/icx/products/clt/
2) Once its release in UK, what will be the way to have the
procedure done. Do I have to fly to UK ,or the extraction of cell can be
done locally.
The answer is we don't know yet how it will be regulated so it might be
possible to have the biospy undertaken in a different country from which
you receive the treatment. If ICX-TRC reaches the market, we still
don't know in which country it will be available first.
3) When are we going to start phase-2
The Phase II trial for ICX-TRC is due to start shortly and although I
cannot say precisely when, it will probably be during this quarter -
3Q2006. It will finish sometime during 2007.
4) It would be nice to see some photographs from the phase-1 , and
is there is any plan to release the results from phase-2
I haven't got any photos of the Phase I - sorry. Remember, Phase I
trials are to check safety, not efficacy. It happened that hair growth
was seen. Yes, we will announce the results of the Phase II trial,
probably in 2007.
5) What is our confidence level in releasing HM in 2008 , the
reason I am
asking it because in past we were not very good in keeping up to the
timeline.
I have not heard the term HM before but I am sure you mean ICX-TRC. It
is impossible to say whether it will be successful at this stage. When
you say "we were not very good etc" I think you mean Intercytex. We are
frequently asked for information (!!) about ICX-TRC. Either we can keep
quiet and not say anything and risk upsetting a lot of people like
yourself or we can give out some information - based on the information
that we have at the time. But the development of healthcare products is
not like the production of cars, say, so there are a lot of variables in
the timelines. It's a case of either giving out some information or
nothing at all.
6) Once procedure done, do we have to do the follow up procedures
If you wish to populate newly thinning areas - areas where you lose hair
after the procedure, then yes.
7) Any idea about how much the whole procedure will cost, all I am
looking for rough estimate so I can start saving for it.
No, sorry, but it will probably be a lot less than a hair transplant.
8) Will the price depend upon the area we need to cover, or will it
be just a flat rate
I am not sure - but I think a flat rate would apply.
9) Other thing is that , I keep reading that initially HM will be
offer in combination with Hair transplant. That statement confused me
cause on your website and in the documents, we always try to bring up
the flaws of Hair transplant and here we are saying that we will need it
as well.
I don't think this concept is part of any marketing plan from Intercytex
although it would theorbe possible to combine a hair transplant with
ICX-TRC. The success of a hair transplant depends on how much donor hair
follicles are available and if there were insufficient follicles,
ICX-TRC could be given in addition. It would be up to the individual
surgeon.
And finally, is there is any way I can help you guys in any thing. I
just want this thing to be successful, and want to be part of it.
I think that unless you actually worked for Intercytex, I don't know how
you could be part of it. If we need trial volunteers (which is what you
might be thinking about) we will post the news on the website.
I hope that this helps.
Kind regards
