hey people,

I came off Propecia after using it without any success for around 11 months, and had to stop using minoxidil 5% after it gave me chest pains.

After hoping for a miracle I feel I need to take matters into my own hands again. I have started to think of alternatives, and the most appealing seem to be:

1. minoxidil regular strength (still worried about the chest pains)

2. spironolactone (not sure of its effectiveness on its own ?)

3. Revivogen (no scientific backing ?)

4. Saving for hair transplants (unlikely on my shitty wages)

What does everyone else think. I would be very grateful for some advice.

It's such a shame that I had chest pains, as minoxidil was thickening my hair after three weeks.

Hi ryan,

I am still new to the hair loss thing. Sorry to hear minoxidil aint working for u. But just curious, can u try lowering ur minoxidil application? Since u have a huge reaction to minoxidil, maybe a lower dosage would help. Maybe do 1ml instead of 2ml per day. Just my thoughts. Good luck

can you get your cardiovascular system into the kinda' shape where 2/5% minoxidil would not cause problems, this may take 6 months or less of physical training?

I does sound like if you were getting results after 3 weeks that this stuff was too strong for you! try a daily single appication of 2% and see how you get on.

The general conscensus is that 2% doesnt do much. But if you have no choice you have no choice right. Maybe you could try a 2% with Retinoic Acid which is supposed to make it as effective as 5%.

Also you should try to take Saw Palmetto or some sort of Internal DHT inhibitor. Spencer Forrest sells one that is supposedly pretty good. Also Procerin seems to be popular but I cant vouche for it.

I know some that have had good sucess with Revivogen and spironolactone. Try addding Folligen Spray also.
