you've been spending your whole morning in the mirror hating your hairline or bald spot and then you go out only to see receded or bald guys everywhere enjoying themselves with hot women, only to think - why do I do it to myself?

Nope I almost never see a bald/receded guy with hot women. Most of the girls you see with bald/balding guys met the guy before they started balding and thus have already "fallen in love" with them.

I saw one NW5 unshaven buff guy with a hot girl at a soccer game, and my friend with a NW3 pattern buzzed cut who plays college baseball has a hot girl. 2 cases out of 500 people I have on facebook.

This is a negative assumption. Probably true in a lot of cases but also untrue in a lot of cases...and seeing as SO MANY guys have at least some sort of receded hairline then it's just bs to say these guys don't get hot girlfriends. Very few guys have a perfect straight hairline and they aren't always the one getting the girls over everyone else.

We just give ourselves a much harder time about our hair loss on this forum than most people who just get on with life.

gh05 I challenge you to post pics of a hot girl with a bald guy. The girl had to have met the guy when he was bald not before.

You will struggle to find more than 2 or 3.

No...I'm not going to waste my time on you - if you want to waste your own time, look up Kelly Brook's ex boyfriends. And like i said, you go on a night out and most guys past the age of about 22-23 are receded at least a bit...and they're certainly not all single and miserable about it.

This is exactly what I mean...we torture ourselves on here. I do it to myself most mornings when in reality it probably doesn't matter anywhere near as much as I tell myself it does at those times.

Really? A receding hairline is child's play. Your average woman will look at someone with a receding hairline and see a man with a full head of hair. The REAL problems start at NW4 and up.... that's when people notice and classify you as bald and you will be demoted. Sure, you see the occasional bald guy with a hot chick, but most of the time that guy is a rippped alpha male type. Never have I seen someone like myself with a hot chick on his arm. It just doesn't happen, at least not in this dimension.

not much i can say to that really seeing as you covered all your bases with 'unless he's a ripped alpha male type'...and the guy above covers all bases with 'yeah but they were with him before thy went bald'. Anyway, yes i do see it - and it makes me wish i wasn't such a d*ck to myself about my own receding hairline.

he has a lot of money
he is her b**ch

but yeah i knew someone who was bald and looked crap, his wife was quite decent say a 5 (which was impressive i mean this guy looked liek sh*t), in either case i cant see the guy gogin out to get a new gf anywhere near the level of his wife so you coudl assume she is controlling him becuase he was a crap looking bald guy with weight issues etc.

Uh yeah, you really should. I'm full blown NW5 and I hiss at your hairline with jealousy. HISSSSSS!!!!

If I had your "problem" I would get a new lease on life.

ha...well I guess I should thank you for that much at least. For me it has become an obsession due to depression, low self esteem and the fact that my dad is completely bald.

Regardless, if that is your avatar pic then I don't think you look bad with no hair at all.

The bitter guys on here who pretty much gave up on society should really just move out to Hungary  I just got back from a week in Budapest and there are lots and lots of average and downright ugly NW5+ bald guys roaming the streets over there with a hot gf by their side, no joke.

Tell me about it! Just came back from Prague and my god it's hard to find a girl who isn't hot. Apparently also male pattern baldness is so common in some of these european countries that women just aren't bothered by it like they can be in British and US culture. Certainly seems that way judging by the guys with these women.

Maybe he should listen and take some confidence from it. I've seen way less attractive guys pull hot girls. But I can't talk because I have a receded hairline and I spend most of my day convincing myself that I'm ugly and it will get worse as my hair gets worse. The curse that is depression combined with male pattern baldness.

Yeah, this is what I have realized over the last few years.

Im 22 now, and started receeding at about 17 1/2. At the time I felt like OMG, this is the worst thing in the world etc, and thought that I was suddenly going to go bald over night etc and rapidly lose my looks. But over the years I have come to realise that although the recession has already dented my looks to a slight degree, its really not that much of a big deal.

No one notices that much. Sure, sometimes people point out that I have slight recession, but whatever.

I fear most thinning and losing on top.

I always try say to myself that hopefully it will be alright. That I can look healthy and fit and have a good complexion and have a positive attitude and it will somehow all work out magically. But what scares me to f*** is the reality of the situation. That MOST bald and badly balding men I see look sh*t. Not nessacarily like quasimodo, but its always looks worse then neutral. It depresses me to f***. And its one thing when you are in the 20-40 bracket, I guess your skin is still relativily young provided to you take care of yourself.

But after 40, having older, rougher skin and being bald, its a f*****g nightmare.

Its much lauded, but a good tan is the only way to really take the sharp ugly pale look away. Thats why black guys (generally) aren't really seen as 'bald' in the same way as white guys. They dont have cancer victim pale *** scalps that shine out and look really out out place.

But most of the bald guys I see who look like sh*t ARE in the uk. Shitty weather. Fairly unhealthy country despite pretty good age expectancies. I havent left the country recently but when I go to say, Italy or France for example where they have longer, better summers where the sun is stronger, its not like ALL bald men look crappy. There are a lot more decent looking bald guys in good shape with a good tan.

Its one thing to be bald, but to be pasty and bald is the real f****r.

As long as we keep in shape(easier said then done), dress well(need money), eat well(easier said then done) and keep a positive mental attitude and have a good tan, then I think it can be ok. I also as we get older women become less fickle.

When women get to 40 I think they would be less bothered. And maybe even some younger girls.

I guess also the main thing is that whats worse? An average looking bald man with a f*****g shitty negative attitude with no confidence and no self belief? Or an average bald man with a really positive, radiant, strong, confident belief in himself? There is a lot to be said about attitude. A small thing that makes a big difference.

The way I see it, there only two options towards mpw. Either you go down the route of wailing and holding on and rubbing all that sh*t n your hair, or you just accept it and make the best out of what you can change, as opposed to not accepting what you cant.

A lot of people on this board though make a lot of wailing about their male pattern baldness but don't do any treatments whatsoever. And a lot will have a big regimen with lots of faff, but will have a good outlook on their life and see keeping their hair as a bonus.
To me losing my hair is a massive blow to my image (as you said above, pasty, skinny and bald) but what's done is done, now I take my finasteride, try to stop Toppik looking too OTT and get on with my job (glancing at the hair transplant forums from time to time). 1 tablet of finasteride and a minute to put Toppik on isn't really that much per day.

But I agree with what you say about the UK. I wanted to get a tan this summer but I mean we didn't have any sun. (I don't like fake tans as they look even stupider than being pale).
I went to Spain last year and the difference between us and the Spaniards is huge in appearance terms, they almost looked another race. When I was on the beach people who approached me automatically spoke to me in English rather than Spanish. Baldness on the Spaniards though comes in another stereotype, you get the short, bald, very hairy, gold chain etc Southern European stereotype - but during my Norwood spotting there I never saw a youngish NW4+ guy that stood out in the way they do in the UK (they trim it very short and keep the melon tanned)

I mean personally Id say f*** the treatments. Shave off, go and live in a hotter climate for a while, work on getting healthy and a good complexion.

Its definitely inspiring when you go to other parts of Europe, the bald guys dont look so bad. Without a doubt in the UK its the lack of sunshine that really makes it worse here.
