Today after showering, I accidentally saw my hair shedding and took a look at it.
It looks like exclamation point hair as described in Alopecia Areata.
This is just one strand of hair tho. The other strands I observed were not similar to this (no thinning near the root).

It looks exactly like this figure. The hair does not gradually taper toward the root but instead suddenly taper near the root.
So I took it under a USB microscope along with my normal hair.

My question is does the exclamation point hair always indicate Alopecia Areata?
Do normal people without Alopecia Areata got this kind of hair sometimes?
I'm not sure since this is the first time I see this kind of hair from my scalp. They're not usually look like this.
