expecting regrowth on finasteride, unrealistic?

Hi, when people speak of regrowth, are they talking about dormant hairs coming back?

I'm hoping to thicken a lot of the finer hairs on my head, which will make quite a difference. Is this a realistic expectation?

I've got a lot of hairs that are shorter on my head and have started to shrink, I'm hoping that finasteride will work and these hairs will shed and come back thicker?

Thanks,
Mark.

1/3 of people on finasteride will just get their loss slowed down, I think by the 5 year mark, whereas 83% at least maintain at the one year mark. The odds are in your favor. But you probably should add other stuff to be sure. An ounce of prevention is worth 2 pounds of treatment.

I dont believe that.

I believe Propecia thickens up your existing hair, making your hair more dense so it looks fuller, thicker and less bald.

Merck's trials show that people using propecia regrew hair by sampling a 1" circle area over 5 years. I believe the average was around 50 hairs. They have it on the propecia website, tho.

EVERY independent study and clinical trial has shown that finasteride regrows hair for the majority of men, you are the one who is wrong

they used a tatooed circle, or maybe a dot, and very good photography and computers to count the hairs. They also used thousands of men.

May be re -asking the question here but...I have thin hair on the crown and good coverage in the front...can I expect the thin hairs on top to thicken??darken?? If this happens I am freaking excited....regrowth would be a bonus.
When people say maintanance...does this mean what I have now stays the way it is or does maintanence include the thickening of those thin hairs

yes, regrowth is reverse miniaturization, though should grow back darker and thicker, and more of them, this happens in the majority of men

What exactly is happening during the reversal of minaturization? Are the hair cells beginning to multiply again and this causes thicker hair, or is there something causing the follicle to enlarge?

Or in another way is the DHT killing hair cells or just causing the follicle to shrink?

the dht reacts with the androgen receptor on the hair cell follicles signaling a very slow immune response at which your body slowly kills off the hair over time
