Hi guys, bit of a weird one but hopefully you can help. For about a year I was on finasteride and minoxidil and got solid results. I have to admit I got hair greed and wanted to go further so incorporated one dutasteride tab a week into my regiment after reading some promising sounding studies. A month or so in I get to the shedding phase and I take that as a good sign that the medication is working, however the side effects were what took me off that singular tab, I was experiecing ridiculously intense depression as well as some lower body trouble. I chose to come off the dutasteride and fortunately due to the fact I was only taking a tab a week the side effects disappeared relatively quickly. Now I am 3 months off them. However my hair has thinned and receded these last 3 months almost to a point where it was at before I started treatment. My question is basically, is my body getting used to the reduced DHT inhibition from the finasteride as oppossed to the dutasteride? And if that is the case will my hair improve again, I have to admit it has been doing some damage to my mental health seeing it regress again. The right is how my hair was a few Days before taking Dutasteride, the middle is after I came off it for a few weeks, and the left is how it is currently. I'm hoping it'll go back to how it was because I was really happy with the pre dutasteride results. And just in case extra context is needed, in either situation I intend to get a hair transplant within the next 3-8 months.
