Eye Pressure/pain On Minoxidil. Should I "ride It Out"?

Hi
I have recently bought a 3-months package of Regaine foam 5% (probably not so smart of me). after 2 applications on the hairline (one day, approx. 2g) I have experienced a side effect which fells like some kind of pressure, almost to be described as slight pain, in and behind the eyes. I have also noticed some kind of puffiness in the skin underneath the eyes.

I then waited for this effect to diminish which took about 3 days, and then tried again applying the foam, this time to the crown, with a significantly lower dosage (maybe 0.3g). the pain/pressure came back, but this time less noticeable.

Should I stop Minoxidil completely at this point? Is it a good idea to continue with a lower dose and see if the body gets accustomed to it?

Thanks

No.

Keep going and figure out what you can tolerate.

Thanks,

Will keep trying.
My problem is thinning all over, so if anything I would need to use a big dose everyday to cover the whole area.
Also have found out that it makes me cough :(

Oh man.. I wish all this could be easier

Hi Thickandtired - how is your eye pain now? I got very similar side effects when I took Rogaine for a couple of weeks. I stopped using because the eye pain and pressure became unbearable, but the eye pain still hasn't gone away completely. It has been 3 weeks now...

Hi, sorry for the late response.
I have basically quit after 3 applications because side effects seemed like a no go to me.
I have noted that they subside after 24-48 hours of application.
Having used it for weeks, there might have been some accumulation of the drug in your system therefore it takes longer.
Honestly I don't really know. Hope it's gone by now? If not I'd contact a good physician.
Good luck

I had the same side effects but either they went away or it was placebo because I'd read about in advance.

had the same reaction from Rogaine! after 1-2 month your eyes will tolerate it but is it worth it?
i used Rogaine for 6-9 month with this sides and elevated body hair, more on arm, fingers.
Finally i stop it and now on Phytologist 15 (Phyto)+tam818(telomeres activator)+mitoq/skq1 for mitochondria and decrease of inflammation.
After local use of skq1 my hair stands more then 24 hours without any side effects.
p.s in my case Folligen/Loreal lotions/Anaphase had no measurable effect!

I have never heard of any of the substances you mentioned other than Rogaine...
