For the first time in 5 years I feel good about my hair. I've been on finasteride for 5 months now and It's definitely doing its job. I had quite an intense shedding phase and I thought about quitting a few times, but I'm glad I didn't. I was consistent with my regimen, I didn't miss a single day of finasteride (1.25mg/day) and minoxidil (1ml/day at night).

After about 4 months of shedding I had already lost a fair amount of density but at that point the shedding started to decrease. It has stopped now.
At the same time a lot of terminal hairs started to come in. They're still there and are blending in with the rest of my hair. I can already see the second wave of regrowth. A lot of new vellus hairs and some new terminal hairs!

Before. This was at the worst point, during the shed I believe.

When I wake up my hair looks something like this.

I'm so excited for the next few months! My hair already feels so much healthier and it's looking better everyday.

Not sure if I can get much hope from this thread as a woman but how much density have you lost over 4 months? I've been on spironolactone (another anti androgen) for nearly 4 months. My hair is a lot thinner and I don't even see vellus hair growing in

are you using the 5% minoxidil? I thought the instructions said 2ml/ per day ( 1ml in the morning, and 1ml at night)

Once a day is about as effective as twice a day, due to the fact that topical last about 22 hours. Twice a day also tends to make my scalp itchy.
