Fibres speeding up hair loss?

I know this has probably been discussed before, but.......... does anyone believe it...?

I know manufacturers always say the fibres are a certain length so they can't possibly speed up the rate of hair loss, because they are large enough to not clog up the pores of the where the roots grow etc, but I am now convinced the bald spot on my head is much bigger than it was a few months ago when I started using this stuff every day?

Anyone?

Unless you're dumping half a bottle of the fibers on your head every time you apply it, I can't imagine them causing your hairloss to speed up. Are you using minoxidil and propecia, too?

Well thats entirely possible (m.p.b is progressive).
But its not the fibres that are causing it.
M.p.b happens naturaly below the skin, using products on your hair will not effect it.

Hi guys.....

Thanks for the answers, just wondered.... Interestingly they only irritate my head after I've washed them out.

Haven't started on the minoxidil or Propecia yet. Doctor said don't bother with the minoxidil if you take Propecia. Am guessing most would disagree with that. Shall I just buy it over the counter, and which one do you guys recommend?

Didn't realise that male pattern baldness was THAT progressive, man that's quick!

I don't know why your doctor told you not to bother with using minoxidil if you're taking propecia. That doesn't make any sense.
When it comes to the progression of baldness, it varies with each individual. Some gradually lose it over the course of many years, while other go from a full head of hair to bald in a much shorter period of time. I'd definitely take the minoxidil along with the propecia. I can't think of one good reason not to unless you can't afford both.

yeah like they said, the popular consensus is that unless the fibres are causing irritation on your scalp then you are ok. I always wondered this myself as I have used toppik and dermatch and I had concerns like you and honestly I don't know the answer. It would seem logical that they have nothing to do with male pattern baldness or excellerating your loss but I'm not so sure. This has no scientific proof obviously, but it feels as though my scalp and hair feel heavy and when I wash the product out, more hairs (although loose and may have been destined to be removed anyway) seem to fall out. I don't think this is going to make you go bald if you have not been previously destined to experience male pattern baldness but I certainly understand your experience and what I do is to only use the concealers until I absolutely need them. Hope that helped my friend.

Thanks for that guys, I'm not sure why the Doctor said that, but maybe female docs are not as clued up in this subject matter? I can't actually afford either, but needs must!

I had a blood test before the prescription, which I thought was for a prostate test, but it wasn't. Should that have been done? It was to check thyroid to see if that was causing the sudden hairloss, which it wasn't.

I understand the absolutely needing concealers, but If I leave house without concealers it's a baseball cap job, I can't deal with this too great at the moment. V depressing
