finasteride and depression

Studies into the depressive effect of finasteride could easily be affected by a confounding variable - hair loss! Many men who lose their hair get depressed by it. Many men who don't respond (or who think that they don't respond) to finasteride get depressed.

Yea, cuz those scientific studies linking finasteride use to depression are absolutely meaningless, right Pondle? Right.

You're like a broken record, always trying to find ways to put the blame elsewhere instead of on the drug, and it's seriously getting old and annoying. Stop ignoring the evidence.

I don't think you can ignore confounding variables. It's a common problem in both science and social science research. I sometimes think you have a very partial view of the world Mew... you accuse me of always "putting the blame elsewhere", but you always do the exact opposite!

BTW taking another look at those studies, they are only posit a circumstantial link, and neither has a control group. Hardly watertight stuff.

I dont' think these studies can be denied. They were well conducted.
Its something people need to be aware of really.

They weren't controlled trials, they don't meet the scientific 'gold standard'.
