Hi there, i've been taking generic finasteride for 3 months now, already been using minoxidil and nizoral for almost a year, but with no significant results in halting hairloss, so my question is this: after i started taking finasteride i had no shed and hair seemed to stop falling, is no shedding a good sign or a bad sign (not responding to finasteride)?

Thanks in advance!

I didn't shed until 3-4 months in. My hair stopped falling out way before my first shed. Even then it wasn't that dramatic.

i always think everyone is different with sheds because everyones hair cycle is different. some never shed at all on finasteride and get regrowth, sum shed a crap ton and get regrowth. in the end sheds dont mean much wut really matters is how your hair looks.

shedding bears no relation to the effectiveness of the drug. i remember one of the post in success stories of a guy, i think it was paul december, anyways, he didnt experience any shedding and regrew a ton of hair with finasteride alone. also, many doctors who prescribe finasteride have never heard of shedding from their patients. so u dont have to shed to regrow hair.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm going to give it a year to see how it turns out, but probably i won't stop the treatments as i see that with the big 3 im doing all i can to try and stop my hair from falling, at least to spend less money when and if HM comes out.

later!
