finasteride and oily skin

if i kept getting oily skin, i'd just take frequent trips to the mens room to wash my face. carry around a hand towel with me maybe. to wipe face clean. with regards to acne, i'm not so sure.

There are a few people on the forums that think it's just coincidence that some people get oily skin while on finasteride. The literature seems to back up that claim. Some people get overall better skin, too.
I think it depends on the individual and I think the drugs and their effects are a little more complicated than we think..

I’ve always had oily skin (I use blotting papers during the day because I can only wash my face two times a day)
Propecia cleared my acne completely but did nothing for my oily skin.
It’s strange because the rate the skin produces oil is determined by the DHT levels (or so I thought). DHT binds to Androgen Receptors on the oil glands, so DHT stimulation results in excessive oil production.
