finasteride = chronic prostisitus

One of the major sides I still deal with from finasteride is testicular shrinkage.... my balls are ALWAYS tight, like cold water swim tight.

Well I think I have narrowed it to finasteride allowed my body to get chronic prostatitis.

When I first had sides my Doctor gave me basically gonorrhea anti biotics (cant remember what they were, sorry) and it helped A LOT.
I just had an FUE and the Doctor gave me a prescription of cephalexin and again my balls are hanging like normal again.

Now how is this possible?
Well let me say I take a TON of vitamins, and my piss is always yellow but a week pre procedure I stopped to not have anything interfere. Well my wee wee was crystal clear. I started taking the biotics a day and a half pre. The next day my piss was smelly, brown and all around gross, and once again my boys are hanging low.

Well looking into the medicine these anti biotics are given for prostatitis and every time Im on them my symptoms get better.

I have read finasteride can cause this since it is altering the prostate from its natural state and allows the bad bacteria to set in.

Should you go on finasteride and experience any sort of atrophy or discomfort get them to give you some strong medication like my cephalexin on the side of the all natural route and see if it helps. Once completed see if the sides return like mine keep doing. I am really thinking for some of us messing with your prostate when it doesn't need to be is a bad set of news.

Right now there is really no way from what I have read to EVER 100% be rid of chronic prostatitis but perhaps this tip can help others before theirs becomes persistent.

I'm sorry I can't be the one to tell you honestly, all I can say is get your blood work done and monitor your t and dht levels.
That is of course a symptom of prostate or uti infection but I'm not a doctor and probably won't stick my finger up your but to find out lol.

My thread title should have had a ? At the end but I typo'd it.
Be safe man

fair enough, thanks for taking the time, i asked you because i think i remember you writing somewhere on the forum that even you had some sort of a burning sensation, so i thought might just ask you directly as in whether they were finasteride related or co incidentl ( i apologise in advance if you had mentioned the cause in the post, but i could not find it again). Anyway, i hope things take a turn for you for good, thanks again!!!

Yes I had an awful burning, that then turned into a multitude of things. Just be real careFul and watch is all I can say. If you start getting ball pain and Ed then stop and don't test to see if finasteride was the culprit, it probably was and will do more harm if you pop another.

Go get some blood work. You should have done that before starting Finn, wish I did. Then monitor that ever couple months with more. Make sure your levels aren't all over the place.

From my reading the Finn changes your prostate size regardless if your sick or not and that can seriously affect the levels of bacteria in it causing prostisitus which could easily go chronic.
I'm probably going to get my blood work done again soon to set if it's dropping again, going up still or leveled out at mid 600s.

Your problems may not be related though.
Monitor because if it wasn't you could be missing out on something that's helps.
Sometimes side will pass as well

Guys, you should try nettle tea. i've been drinking it for 14 months /2x a day. Never really had prostate issues, but only 2 weeks in I noticed i don't have to run to piss in the morning...and the urin flow is like 30% grater-its like i'm pissing throught fire hydrant.. its ridiculous. They say its good for urinary tract infections. Also I think its good for my hair.

"Laboratory studies have shown stinging nettle to be comparable to finasteride (a medication commonly prescribed for BPH)"

What's great is that nettle lovers your prostate DHT and not systemic level of DHT.

I think screwing with my DHT was a major contributor to my sides as well. I had off the charts fluxuation with my testosterone.
Im hesitant now to even start saw palmetto again just because Im not back to normal 100% still.

Swingline-

I took Propecia for 9 years. I am 28-years old and was diagnosed with prostatitis a few months back. It started with painful urination and when I was tested for STDs, I kept showing up positive for chlymidia even though it didn't really make sense. I was treated 5 times for chlymidia by an Internal Medicine Dr. Finally, I made my way to a urologist who diagnosed me with prostatitis. Since I had been treated so many times recently with antibiotics he waited until now to treat the prostatitis. I am one week into a three week prescription of Levaquin and my lower back (from my enlarged prostate) now hurts so bad that it hurts to move.

In the process of successfully treating your prostatitis the first time, did you notice the medication making it worse, rather than better?

When I took the antibiotics for chlymidia (mainly zithromax), I noticed my body getting better before feeling worse weeks later. This has been the opposite. I just feel worse.

I actually dont deal with many major symptoms aside some urethral pain (between legs not under penis though) like pressure and testicular atrophy like I always stepped out of a cold pool, unless I use the heat pad a while then it feels great. Problem is (not bragging) my boys were always pretty big and hung LOW so when I would go to the docs they would say they look normal yet my GF would vouch "that aint normal for you". Also my semen amount is DRASTICALLY reduce (big whoop whatever) and my labido is still so/so (Ive been using DHEA to help though). I have no real problems getting it up but its not like it used to be.

When I would take the ABs yes it would get better then go back to the way it was.
I have not gotten the prostate checked as of yet since they always say its normal looking there. I am thinking of scheduling another urologist visit with someone else but its tough to find one here. Keep me updated on how the levaquin works for you. Dont forget even when you get AB's for the flu you always get worse before getting better.
Situation is Ive read you can sometimes push it down so it looks like its cleared but then even years later it can reamerge. finasteride is one of my biggest regrets honestly.

Propecia side effects

Hi swingline, I took propecia for about a year, stopped it a year ago, side effects (low libido, difficult to get hard, loss of sensation in penis etc...) only appeared a few months after stopping, after 1 year, still feeling the side effects, tried maca for some time now, no obvious improvement, I have done quite a lot reading online but most posts I read so far seem suggested no cure yet, I have seen one of your posts suggesting dhea can help. So is dhea the answer? which dhea supplement and how much per day you used? Thanks a lot if you can reply

I've been a chronic prostatitis sufferer for more than a year and I can tell you that it's extremely unlikely to get chronic prostatitis due to the use of finasteride.Chronic Prostatitis is either bacterial or non bacterial. The bacterial form of the disease occurs as the bacteria reaches and settles in the prostate gland which is barely or not possible to happen due to finasteride. The second form of the disease is the non bacterial form which means there is no bacteria found in the prostate. It may be caused by bladder dysfunction or pelvic muscle dysfunction.Urethral Stricture is also among the possible causes of non bacterial prostatitis as the backflow of the urine may cause an inflammation on the prostate gland.
