i followed a link on a previous post and have also read other posts about finasteride dosage issues that claim that .5 mg a day is more than enough. i would really like to minimize any chance for side effects or even long term effects even though i dont play to stay on it for more than 2-3 years. im willing to try .5 mg a day but since finasteride stays in your system, wouldnt it be equal to taking a pill every other day? what are everyones thoughts on this?

I would do .5mg/d over 1mg eod. Finasteride's half life is very short (on the order of 8 or so hours).. so it'd be advisable to take it every day, in whichever you dosage you choose.

Um.... where did you reat that? After stopping a consistant 1mg Finasteride dosage, it will continue reduce DHT levels for up to 2 weeks...

It's well known that it's half-life is eight hours.. that doesn't mean finasteride's effect in the body is gone after that time.. It takes two weeks for the 5ar to start doing it's thing again.

You don't want to take the drug every other day.. keep to a daily consistent dosage. Some people even split up their dosages to two times a day.. because of the half-life issue.

In that case they are dumb fuckers! dht is supressed for atleast a few days after to popping the pill, that's all one needs to know!

Half life means, that after said period of time, the drugs potency in the system in HALVED, not eliminated!
