I'm 22 years old and I made the huge mistake to have a hair transplant to go from a NW1.5 to a NW1.
And now 2 weeks after I'm experiencing shock loss at the transplantes area (and donor area), the hairline at my temples (behind the transplanted area) is thinner and I occasionaly get hairs in my hand when I pinch these areas.
Now my question is should I take finasteride to make sure that these hairs will grow back?
I took finasteride in the past to prevent further loss but discontinued it after 4 months because of side effects. I didn't get any benefits from it and didn't lose anything after stopping it, obviously. I would really really prefer to avoid taking this drug again...

Well, most people usually keep using finasteride after a hair transplant to prevent losing the other hair that is not transplanted so I don't see any reason not for you to use it after spending big coin on a transplant. That is of course if you are eventually going to experience diffuse thinning up top. If you are one of those who get deep norwood but still keep a thick hair for most of your life then taking pills for it seems unnecessary.

Well it was not really expensive since the surface is probably smaller than 10cm^2. My plan was to get on finasteride as soon as I would notice further recession. I have very thick hair and can cover my temples very easily. I'm definitely not diffusing. What makes me sh*t my pants is that my left temple that was barely a NW1.5 appears to be thinner due to shockloss and I don't know if it's going to continue and more importantly, if it's going to grow back...

If you are destined to recede even further then yes, jump on finasteride.
