It can happen. By blocking 5ARII, finasteride stops a proportion of testosterone converting into DHT. The short-term result is...more testosterone. That may explain why you're feeling how you're feeling.

In the longer term, the HPTA will balance things out by, for example, upregulating SHBG and thereby limiting your 'free' testosterone.
