Honestly, it's crazy. The second finasteride enters my scalp I get insane pulsating, swelling, burning and crawling all across the hair line and crown and if I stick with it, those areas get destroyed. Tried oral finasteride for a year back in 2016 and went diffused thin probably about 50% of my hair. Decided to attempt Xyon topical the other day, just a little bit and it felt like a swarm of bees were trapped under my scalp, only in the hairline and crown. Point being - I refuse to believe that I'm in the 1% of people or whatever the f*** they say. That statistic is totally wrong. More importantly, the idiots that say it can't make your hair loss worse piss me off.

I was going bald on dutasteride 2.5mg, Then tried finasteride. Nothing. I have been on and off finasteride for some time now that I have lost count but im gonna stick with it because I was going bald without meds anyways. Im shedding for over 2 months it must be the oral minoxidil. But I dont get your scalp symptoms at all neither oral or topical finasteride.

Im actually glad I get such crazy f*****g inflammation from it rather than just taking it and having it not work. Finasteride and dutasteride are a f*****g joke and it's sad this is still all we have. Oh well. I've been shaving my head zero guard and living my life. Great litmus test for those in my life that are shallow as f*** like my family, versus the handful of good people out there.

Some do get miracle recoveries on finasteride so it can work great. It depends on genes and hormonal levels. dutasteride made me stop shedding hair alltogether and stopped any hairline itch I had at least but it sped up my thinning somehow. It boosted my T alot I actually felt it. Got strong as hell on it.

Did you start with finasteride? How did you respond to that?

Are you allergic to any of the following? these are apparently the inactive ingredients in finasteride, according to the FDA:

lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, sodium starch glycolate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose LF, titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate, talc, docusate sodium, yellow ferric oxide, and red ferric oxide.

No. Also, if I were allergic I'd have an immune response elsewhere besides just my hairline and crown.

Like I said because dutasteride thinned my hair like mad after 1.5 years on it despite losing very very little hair. Also my semen production went to 0 almost. 1 drop came out. I also used oral minoxidil while on dutasteride. Now I use only topical finasteride with 2.5mg oral minoxidil tablets.

Hi i put Certrizine in my minoxidil just crushed up and shake the bottle until its dissolved.this is a anti Histamine so calms it down and stop the body attacking its self i always take 4 a day as they also helps out.
I was told by hair specialist to take orally to calm my scalp but i decided to add it into the minoxidil.
I have tried the finasteride in the minoxidil but my scalp couldn’t take it so went back to oral finasteride .been on it over 30 years now. With that and a bit of a cover up spray it looks brill and im now 58 I do laser cap a few times a week and the odd dermal roller.
i do have an itchy scalp at times so use Tricotyne + EP supplement but that could be uk availability only .good luck with it
