finasteride lowers Leukocytes ?

Hi there,

does anybody have slightly lowered Leukocytes ? On finasteride for 3 months now.

Just wondered if there is any connection.

I have low leukocytes too (very low end of normal). What's it amount to? Getting sick easier and staying sick longer?

Hi ,

this is what I got from medicine literature.

If the number of leukocytes is strongly degraded, then this is in most cases a reference to a virus infection. Also diseases such as malaria or typhoid fever can be the cause of a decreased number of leukocytes. Likewise a damage of the marrow can accompany, e.g. in consequence of Roentgen irradiation or a treatment (cancer medicines), with a reduction of the number of leukocytes....

I didn't answer your question but : Yes - the immune system is weakened.

Just read that excessive sports can result in a temporary lower count as well.
