21 year old male been taking finasteride for 3 years and I have noticed I have almost no desire to have sex. I still crave for intimacy and would like to have sex if I could but in my current state I doubt I can perform it.
I get almost no morning wood / nocturnal / random erections. On the rare occasion I do get them they are only half hard. The only time I am able to get a real erection is by masturbating which I do an average of 3 times a day out of stress. Even masturbating ( no p**rn) is a struggle because it’s hard for me to maintain an erection. I usually get hard , then go a bit soft , then hard again and repeat this process until I am able to finish.
as weird as this sounds to say I am not really masturbating from the desire to masturbate. I am masturbating because it is the only way I can see myself with an erection and that gives me peace of mind. If I decided not to masturbate for a few days I would have absolutely no erections at all and feel like a 80 year old man.
since I started taking finasteride at 18 I don’t have much to compare it to. In fact I don’t even really Remember what my morning wood / masturbating frequency was pre finasteride because I never paid attention to it. Even if finasteride is causing these sides it is working for my hair therefore I will have no choice but to continue taking it. I am hoping if I did have a rare chance to have sex v**** would be a fix.
