Finasteride side effects

Hello everyone.

I've been considering taking finasteride for a while. But after some searching on the internet i came across a lot of stories from people who have horrible side effects. Sometimes those side effects didn't go away after quitting finasteride. Look at the following websites:

After seeing things like that, i'm seriously beginning to doubt if using finasteride is such a good idea.

Anyway, i was wondering what your experiences with finasteride are? Do you have any side effects? For the people that have stopped using it: did the side effects go away after quitting? Please post your story.

8 months at 1.25 daily.

I had some estrogen related problems (took blood tets and estrogen has doubled during propecia intake) which resulted in breast growth.

Ive had no issues with finasteride, though I only take .5mg

My derm has been taking .5mg daily for the past 8 years and he said he never had any issues with it

I think I got every possible side...

And I regrew all my hair!!!!

SO now Im experimenting with topical finasteride. Sides are definately subsiding so far but I hope this is the happy medium I am looking for.

Otherwise I got totally fucked up on finasteride and I am a healthy guy. Nothing helped with the sides either I tried all kinds of supplements and did tons of research.

I envy those with results and no sides.

Its honestly NOT a good idea, because believe me, those sides are real...People say its in your head or whatever...

But the fact is many pharmaceuticals have these exact same sides from accutane to birth control. Its not a far stretch.

It also seems that the possibility of permanent hormonal change is possible, however probably rare?

But in the pursuit of beautiful hair, people will try dangerous things, like myself. Because hair means : Success, women, friends....Sucks but its true.Hair loss looks creepy, and guys are creepy enough as it is...

Day 2 of re-starting finasteride at lower dose (.8-ish, hard to tell with fincar).

Slight ball ache, that's all.

Has your breast tissue gone back to normal since quitting finasteride? I had the same side-effect and had to have liposuction to get rid of it. Back on finasteride after 3 years on a lower dose, o.5mg EOD but think the same side is coming back.

No, it hasn't gone back. Makes me mad sometimes. No lump or something, just increased tissue which looks bad.

been off it for about 2 1/2 years now, was on it for 6 month. I doubt it will go away.
