finasteride SIDES 0.5 mg

hey guys whats happening,

Im a 20 yo male and have been taking finasteride for about 3 months. I started with 0.5 mg EOD for the first month, dropped it down to 0.5 mg every 3 days for the 2nd and 3rd month, and have recently started 0.5 mg EOD. I have not experienced too many sides other than loss of morning wood and no spontanious erections. Alsoo the quality is about 70-80% of before medication and maintaining isnt the easiest.

I was wondering if these side effects are in my head///will disappear with more time spent on the drug since i have been taking very incremental doses? Im hoping my body is just getting used to the drug, or should i stop taking it??

Hey,
to be honest, both ways can happen. Some people say that the body needs time to adjust the new hormonal settings. In my case (its maybe rare) symptoms started immediately and gincreased AFTER taking this drug. I think it depends on your overall health, gut, other medications, lifestyle. Was on Ac****ane for years which was the first problem of the circle....

I think listen to your body is the best way, for me i got side effects after 2 days and i was on a very bad place after this drug. It's not worth it (in some cases, body predisposition)

yea i've recently started taking vyvanse, but am taking a break from that to see if that is increasing side effects. My side effects started within a week or two of starting finasteride and have been pretty similar since, with 1 week somewhere in the middle where sides disappeared. I think ill give it to the end of the month to see if 4 months will work. thanks

I think that if the sides don't bother you much, you can wait a little as your body really needs time to adjust to new medication. The sides disappear with some time.

yea man i know it sounds severe, but at the same time ive gone through periods where everything has functioned fine, so im not sure if its in my head///related to me changing the dose fairly recently

.25 every other day cured sexual sides

For the last year been having sexual side effects. Been on propecia for 4 years. Orgasm was not as strong, no pulsating feeling and overall less sensation. Changed dosage couple times and settled on .25 eod. After 3 months sides are gone. Still retain hair front and back hair thickness. Little shedding maybe 5% more than usual but its hard to be sure as this happens seasonally. Morning wood is back as well as well as better muscle bulk. Still use rogaine on front and back twice daily. This routine is tolerable and can say that i don't have any side effects. It's worth a try if you don't want to completely go off propecia.

1mg - Finisteride - Every second day
5mg - Minoxidil - Every second day

I have also started 0.25 EOD this week, have been taking 1mg twice
a week but faced bad sides like brain fog, depression, Dullness, loss of libido.
This is indeed a very potent stuff. Will report back after 1 month how this works

I was on 0.5mg daily for past 2 and a half years. I had early diffuse thinning at the front and some loss on the crown. finasteride did a great job of bringing back hair on the crown (can't see any loss there now) and then maintaining everything else I have and it's still working.

However, erection quality was affected and lately its been tricky to get spontaneous erections - I need manual stimulation to get things going.

I have decided to stop now as it's not worth the long term risks - especially as the Mrs says that if there is any risk of sexual side effects then I should stop and she will live with a baldy lol.

I took my last pill last week and I am now considering moving to minoxidil. Only question is whether I do it straight away or wait till after my wedding at the end of the year (worried about a potential shed).
