hey guys, went to my doctor today to order my next batch of propecia. looked at the prescription, and its doesnt say propecia now it just says 'finasteride tablets 1mg'. is this due to the propecia patent expiring? secondly, what affect will this have on price ? cheers guys.

oh yea, and my Doctor wouldnt prescribe proscar because of legality and fraud issues or something

that is the "drug" or "generic" name, "propecia" is the brand name... now i would imagine you will get brand propecia because the generica is at 5mg... at least i am pretty sure

don't worry, in the US, the generics are FDA approved, the generic finasteride had been out since June 16th i believe!

it is fraud if you have insurance to have it pay for BHP when you are taking it in 4ths and using it for male pattern baldness, which your insurance most likely will not cover

doctors are suppose to write the generic name of the drug rather than the trade name (brand name) - then it should be in the patient's hands which brand to buy
