I have been taking 1/6 (about 0.8mg) of a 5mg pill EOD for 4 months now and still I seem to have some sides. Basically it is my erection problems, like difficulty getting one and when i do it's not fully hard. What I'm thinking is I should keep taking it for a while longer and see if it sorts itself out as it has in many other occasions. maybe after 4 months my hormones are still unbalanced? Or maybe it's all in my head lol i dont know but has anyone experienced sides with Finasteride and they have gone away around or after the 4month mark

ps ive posted this here rather than the sides section because i thought id get a more equal response here whereas in the sides section everyone is against finasteride and would just tell me to stop using it. Thanks

honestly, it's probably mostly in your head - i wish we'd never been told that erectile dysfunction was a potential side effect; i bet most of us wouldn't have experienced it nearly as intensely or nearly as long.

but do try and ride it out, i'm at the 7 month mark on finasteride now, and i feel like my slight sexual sides didn't really start ironing out until the 6 month mark

also though, monitor your zinc intake, eat some toasted pumpkin seeds every day, and have a scoop of brewer's yeast in your orange juice to make sure you're getting every vitamin B and amino acid you can - it will really help

Brewer's yeast is normally low in the sulfur-containing amino acids like methionine, cystine, and cysteine. It's also low in the B vitamin folic acid, because our government restricts its use and sale.

I would suggest that if you use a lot of brewer's yeast, make a reasonable effort to balance it with a separate source of folic acid, and other proteins containing the sulfur amino acids. You might even want to balance it with a little calcium and magnesium, since brewer's yeast is normally rich in phosphorous, and low in the other two minerals.
