Fincar Cutting Procedure...

So I don't have a lot of time to spare so i end up cutting a lot of fincar all at once and way in advance. This means that for a long time some of the pills are quartered and just sitting around in a bottle. Is this harmful for the pills? Will it loose effectiveness from being split early and sitting around like that for a while?

They should be fine as long as you're not cutting a years supply up at a time. May I ask what you do that you can't spare 20 seconds twice a week to cut a pill?

I believe the exposure to oxygen will lessen the affects of the finasteride... or so I've read.

I would definitely WAIT to cut up your finasteride pills... cutting 1 up every 4 days.

Or, if you do cut up every single pill, then put them in some oxygen-free capsules.

I have two paying jobs and a volunteer job so whenver i get some time off i pretty much have to spend it with my boyfriend or other friends or i'd never see them... I just didn't consider that it might not be a good idea until now so i thought i'd ask. I'll be less aggressive next time i'm cutting pills up.

if I use one of those orange pill containers you get at walgreens when you get prescription pills (which seems to be oxygen free) will that work?

Unless you're applying a vacuum source to the bottle in some sort of elaborate contraption that you've custom-built for the purpose, the containers you reference have air in them. I agree with Aplunk - cut up one pill at a time.

There's not a man alive who doesn't have time to do this.

I won't anymore. Its mostly just that i didn't think of it at the time and figured i'd save a bunch of time doing it all together.

any link to a study showing oxidation is bad? After all, how protective is the outer layer of the pill from these "negative" effects?

I have been cutting two pills for a total of 8 days at a time.
