Finpecia vs. Proscar vs. Propecia vs. Finasteride vs. Fincar

I know all of these are supposed to be the same drug, but has anyone who has tried different types experienced more results and/or different/more/less side effects.

Speaking of which, what exactly is the difference between all of these? I assume it has something to do with generic brands and different companies that produce the drugs, though I'm not certain.

They're all the same drug, and that includes the best known generic brands. The only difference is the amount of finasteride in each.

Proscar/Fincar = 5mg
Propecia/Finpecia = 1mg

1mg is the recommended daily dosage for hairloss. So most people will buy Proscar/Fincar to save money, and then cut it into fifths.

sounds like a good idea. drugs like propecia are poison and a waste. just go with the laser.

My fincar is a little round tablet. I would think that most people just cut those into fourths and just take 1.25 mg.

That's why I won't joke in this forum. There's too much chance for a misunderstanding.

Yeah they're all made of the same drug, finasteride:

Proscar (Merck)/Fincar (Generic) = 5mg of finasteride
Propecia (Merck)/Finpecia (Generic) = 1mg of finasteride
