First day on Avodart, but....

I took 1 cap Avodart around 11 pm last nite, but already noticed side effects (uncomfortable on liver part) this morning and an increased shedding(shedding has doubled).

I have been on Propecia for almost 8 months, and Minx almost 4 months, basically my hair was maintained (Norwood 1.5-2) and there was no side effects when i was using Propecia.

So should I stop using Avodart today and go back to Propecia? Or just give it another few days? Thanks!

You will not have ANY shedding from taking 1 Avodart capsule. This is the placebo effect. It takes months, and, at the least, WEEKS, before Avodart could possibly have any noticeable affect on your hair.

If you're getting liver pains, then stop Avodart immediately, and talk to your doctor.

Hmm, Actually it wasnt a liver pain, I figured out that I got flu a few days ago, so I was having like body aches, so that could be the reason.

And for the increased shedding, I am pretty sure I had a bad shedding today, saw lots of hair on the pillow(I only got like 3 or 4 before, today was like over 10), and when I washed my hair, there were like lots of hair left in the sink.

I just check Dustateride.com, it says initial shedding is actually a good sign, means that the treatment is working.

But only one cap, is it too fast?

It won't be dutasteride, not after one capsule. I'd stake Aplunk's life on it.

If it is the beginnings of a shed, and one day of seeing more hairs on your pillow and in the sink is no guarantee that it is, then perhaps it's minoxidil induced.

Yeh, I am really worried, so I have decided to go back to Propecia from tonite before its getting any worse.

At least I am responding to Propecia, and I am only Norwood 1.5 or 2.

Getting hairmax laser comb and rogaine foam this week, hope it helps.

Might add some more treatments in near future.
