foam application

I just switched to foam, and the following might seem like a stupid question but I want to make sure im applying it 100% correctly for the best results:

If I mat the foam down on top of my hair, and it will soak thru onto my scalp or do I have to specifically part the hair in each spot I'm applying the foam to?

I was wondering about this too. There is a tendancy to put it on like a styling mousse forgetting that it has to be on the scalp in order to work.

Whilst the liquid goes directly onto the scalp can anyone tell us if the foam will end up on it too?

You need to massage or get it into your scalp, the hair wont soak it up and then transfer it down the shaft to the scalp.....

My hair is anywhere from 1 - 3 inches long so i have to use more than the recomended amount to ensure it hits the scalp.
